Criteria
The Larry Gerard Paper award was established in honour of Dr. R. (Larry) Gerard, a former Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta. It is awarded annually to the top papers written in the undergraduate course CivE 240 (Technical Communications) as judged by a panel of the Edmonton Section of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE). Winners receive a cash prize and a complimentary ticket to one of the CSCE's seasonal dinner presentations, which includes a buffet dinner and a technical presentation on topics of the day pertaining to Civil Engineering.
