Introduction to AI and Data Science

Description

Traditional methods of modeling, designing, and optimizing complex structural systems are complicated and time-consuming. Artificial Intelligence (AI) helps to overcome these deficiencies by automating data collection and analysis. AI has been used extensively in project evaluation, construction planning, estimation, decision making, design and optimization, project management, and other areas of Civil Engineering. Thus, it is essential for our Civil Engineering graduates to have basic knowledge of AI to be competitive in future employment.

Learning Outcomes

Differentiate and manipulate the different types of raw data (structured, semi-structured, unstructured)
Demonstrate knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques utilized in engineering decision making
Apply quantitative modeling and data analysis techniques to the solution of real world civil engineering problems
